I never got to be Seventeen at least not in the pined after, rite of passage kinda way. I was lost in the closet in a small town in 2007, role models were underground and my desire to be loved burned a hole in my spirit. It’s something I think about in relationships now, how different would I be had I not been fat and gay in secret for so long?

We all have things that inspire our inner children, these songs touch on the parts of my inner world that explore rumination’s on body, growing up, love, transness and the skillful avoidance of vulnerability.

I hope you love these tunes that Josh and I carefully put together for you, and that you delight in the imagery Cole and I dreamed up for it.

​​Dust Cwaine (aka David Cutting) is a Singer-Songwriter and Drag Artist. They are a Non-Binary Aromantic, known for their bright and earthy creativity. Dust’s art centers itself in the political nature of queer identity, evoking a sense of belonging and togetherness with their presence in live spaces. 

Dust’s music carries inspiration from the alt rock insurgence of the late 90’s and early 2000’s, lyrically weaving earnesty with humor, for an emotional familiarity that is immediately disarming. Their debut LP titled “Arcana” is  set to be released September 23rd 2022, explores themes of fatness, sexuality, death, Aromanticism, and sacrifice. “Arcana” was produced in collaboration with Josh Eastman of Helm Studios and features production from PLEASEBENiCE and Ashton. Also featured on the album is rapper Tea Fannie (YYC)
